ROOMMATES

🇮🇹 (IT)

The Earth belongs to Plants. We live on a planet where animal life is, in fact, insignificant in terms of percentage: vertebrates, invertebrates, all of us and them combined, we make up just 0.3% of all life forms on Earth.

However, we are an extremely various, colorful 0.3%, full of differences and diversity; sometimes bizarre, sometimes cruel, sometimes loving and touching, but always in constant motion, searching for our place in the world.

How many of you have found yourself, at least once in your life, sharing homes, sofas, kitchens, and common spaces with roommates of all kinds? With the messy one, the troublemaker, the one who always dresses in colorful clothes and the introverted one in “total black”, with the “beautiful one” and the “ugly one,” with the one who never stop talking and the one who never talks, the shy one, the night owl and the early riser, the slightly overweighted or the skinny one, the tall one, the short one, the sleepyhead, the funny one, the one who never gets noticed, but you know is there. The animals who share the planet with us are exactly like this; we share with them this green, crowded, and noisy “room” that spins so quickly in the void of space. We don’t own it, we are merely roommates with millions of other life forms. From the largest to the smallest, from a Humpback Wwhale to a Jumping Spider, from an Elephant to a Hummingbird, from an American Bison to a Pygmy Frog, all with their unique characteristics, and all deserving of being known, explained, respected, and protected.

Wildlife Photography has allowed me to travel, learn about, and experience incredibly diverse ecosystems and life forms, making every trip and every experience, whether a Game Drive in Africa or a walk in a park near home, a unique and emotional experience of discovery, the same emotion I hope can be conveyed to you by this small selection of portraits of some of our “Roommates”made between 2022 and 2025.
